This is my dad who passed away 27 years ago. The photo was taken in August 1939 when he’d just joined the RAF as a 17 year old. He passed on his love of books and the countryside. He also gave me an education. Above all he would be so proud of my involvement with the RNLI as he was a great supporter and loved the coast. Raising a pint to him on Sunday.
