Grandpa had many adventures on the sea, from heading down to the beach for an evening dip after a hard day on the farm to joining the crew of a cross-Atlantic shipping vessel. Perhaps it was in his blood after his father served in the Navy but, whatever it was, he always lit up when telling his stories about the ocean wave. Rest in peace, Gramps.
